Farrow and Ball Inspiration

Monday, 18 January 2016 12:56:31 Europe/London

Take inspiration from our colour of the week - Farrow and Ball's Parma Grey No. 27.

farrow and ball parma grey

Parma Grey, despite its name, is a cool blue and makes a perfect contrast with Wimborne White to create a perfect period feel. Its cool nature can make it feel quite formal, especially when contrasted with a bright white but it is still a firm favorite for those who prefer cleaner crisper rooms. Use it in the living room, kitchen, children's room or bathroom - it would not feel out of place in any room.

Farrow & Ball: Peignoir and Vardo

Wednesday, 10 February 2016 17:25:22 Europe/London

Today we want to introduce to you two of our favourite new colours from the Farrow & Ball collection: Peignoir No. 286 and Vardo No. 288.

Vardo No. 288 is a rich teal; full of life and joy, it is bound to add a touch of flamboyancy to your home. Contrast Vardo with Shadow White No. 282 to add a slightly softer touch, or Cromarty No. 285 for an added warmth.

Our next equally favourite colour from the new collection is Peignoir No. 286. This pink-grey colour has a romantic feel, inspired by ladies chiffon, gowns - it is our perfect colour for Valentines. Created by giving the softest of pinks a big dose of grey, this colour has the ability to feel traditional and modern at the same time. Pair this beautiful pink-grey with Farrow and Ball's Brassic or Brinjal.

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland. On St Patrick's Day it is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories (the "wearing of the green"), so it only seemed fitting that we chose a special green for this week’s colour of the week! St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.

Find Inspiration with Farrow & Ball

Thursday, 31 March 2016 13:18:10 Europe/London

Introducing our colour of the week - Farrow & Ball's No. 289, Inchyra Blue.

Inchyra Blue

This aged blue grey, can read more grey, blue or even green depending on the light in the room. Inchyra Blue makes a great alternative to charcoal, and can then be used to inject a hint of colour into a super contemporary home, and would look beautiful contrasted against a light neutral.

Alternatively, a moody feel can be created through combining it with Black Blue or Vardo.

Breakfast Room Green Inspiration

Monday, 25 April 2016 14:24:49 Europe/London

Farrow & Ball's No. 81, Breakfast Room Green is our Colour of the Week.

Breakfast Room Green is named after the usually east facing rooms designed for early morning repast, and indeed appears particularly beautiful in dawn light. It is the most cheerful of all the Farrow & Ball greens because it remains lively whether in bright sunlight or in candlelight. We think that it is the ideal colour for your home this Spring.

Whether used in a dining room, hallway or even your country kitchen units, Breakfast Room Green adds a touch of freshness to any room that it graces.

Looks great withif you want a light contrasting scheme for this beautiful colour, pair it with Slipper Satin, and Lime White. If you're after something a little more bolder, why not opt for Studio Green & Calke Green.

Saturday, 30 April 2016 11:22:53 Europe/London

We know that picking the right colours and finishes can prove to be a little tricky, so today we thought we'd take the time to explain some of the Farrow & Ball finishes, to help you pick the right finish for the right room and texture that you are painting. To make matters a little more confusing, we also recommend using primer and undercoat to get the best out of your chosen Farrow & Ball colours.

Tunsgate Green Inspiration

Tuesday, 10 May 2016 15:28:07 Europe/London

Our colour of the week is Farrow & Ball's No. 250, Tunsgate Green.

The most delicate of Farrow & Ball greens, it has a large amount of yellow pigment, making it extremely versatile. It can be used as a wall colour when contrasted with All White to create a refreshing feel, or as a neutral against darker greens to create a more balanced feel.

Farrow and Ball Tunsgate Green

TIP: Tunsgate Green No. 250 looks great when paired with All White and Wimborne White for a neutral feel, or Cooking Apple Green and Breakfast Room Green for a slightly bolder feel.

The light touch of Tunsgate Green makes it the perfect colour for brightening up the kitchen, living room or dining room, and accentuating natural light in the room.
